Bangkal This species originated from the Indochina to Malesia regions. It was introduced to Singapore as a landscape plant. The tree can grow to a height of 30 m and bears spherical clusters of fragrant flowers that develop into edible but bitter fruits. The wood is used for timber and in woodcarving.
