Petai A tall tree that can that can grow from 15 m to 45 m. Crown is umbrella shaped. Flowers are small and set very closely in round balls at the end of stout green stalks of about 20-50cm long, cream white in colour. Fruits are pods about 30 - 50 cm long.The seeds of the Petai are edible and are served as sambal petai, an Indonesian / Malaysian dish.
