Jelawi Jaha A tall forest tree that can grow up to 45 m in height or more. Crown is wide and flat-topped, esp in mature trees. Trunk is heavily buttressed. Bark is pale brown and narrowly cracked. Fruits are flat, two-winged fruits that are scattered by wind. Native. One of the tallest trees in the Gardens, this Jelawi Jaha is a native of the rain forest in the Gardens. It was discovered during the construction of the Gardens and has been standing here for more than 150 years. This Heritage Tree had a girth of 6.5m when measured in Year 2001. The buttresses are up to 5m high. Measured at 1.3m height including the buttresses, the girth was 11m in Year 2013.
