Enjoy a nostalgic evening of golden hits at Empress Place with NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra® and Satay Night Live

Singapore, 9 June 2016 – NParks will be organising the second instalment of NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra® in conjunction with Satay Night Live on 25 June at Empress Place, Empress Lawn, from 5.30pm till late.

The audience can dine on satay and other local delights while reminiscing the good old times with songs from yesteryears. Themed “Retro”, the Rockestra® concert will feature a medley of golden hits from the 50s to 90s performed by Jive Talkin’, Sebastian Tan aka Broadway Beng, Jack & Rai, Ciao Turtle, ShiLi & Adi, and The Pinholes. Budding musicians, Alia and Dee Dee, who had been specially mentored by Jack & Rai as part of NParks’ initiative to promote young talents, will be making their debut at the Rockestra® concert. Kids can also look forward to a Disney musical medley performed by ShiLi & Adi. The concert will be hosted by Justin Misson, popularly known as Warrant Lum in the movie “Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen”.

Besides food and music, families and friends can also look forward to an evening of fun-filled carnival games as part of the fringe activities. Some crowd favourites include balloon sculptors and a bouncy castle for children.

NParks will also be giving out limited picnic baskets for the concert through a Facebook contest. Interested participants are invited to post a picture of themselves dressed in a retro outfit, and using the hashtag #RetroRockestra. The contest will run from 13 June to 21 June, 12pm. A total of 10 winners from the Facebook contest will be able to redeem a picnic basket at the concert on 25 June. More details at www.facebook.com/nparksbuzz.
