A Night of Instrumental Favourites at Bedok Reservoir Park

Singapore’s favourite local acts will perform at NParks’ fourth instalment of the SG50 Concert Series in the Park
Singapore, 18 Sept 2015 - Bringing the event closer to the heartlands, NParks SG50 Concert Series in the Park is back for the fourth instalment this coming 26 September 2015 at Bedok Reservoir Park. Get serenaded by popular local instrumental talents like T'ang Quartet, More than Music, The Teng Ensemble and Djoko Mangkrengg Performing Arts, who will put together a wide repertoire of music featuring classical renditions of popular songs by the likes of Bruno Mars, Kenny G, Kitaro, One Direction, Pachelbel, Tchaikovsky, Teresa Teng, Vivaldi, and more.
Themed ‘A Night of Instrumental Favourites', the concert will be accompanied by a visual display of LED kites, LED musical instruments. Making use of the park’s feature as an ideal location for water sports, crowd favourite Urban Drum Crew will also be treating viewers to a visual feast with their performance featuring lighted water drums on dragonboats. Another programme highlight will see Ding Yi Youth Ensemble musicians interacting with the audience, where spectators stand a chance to conduct the orchestra as part of their performance.
This is the fourth in a series of six free outdoor concerts organised by the National Parks Board (NParks) at various parks as part of the SG50 celebrations. To be hosted by Gurmit Singh, best known for his role in Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd, the concert will be held at the Floating Deck at Bedok Reservoir Park from 6.30pm to 10pm, with family-friendly fringe activities beginning at 4.30pm. There will also be a pre-concert performance by Di-Capella Dizi Ensemble where 70 bamboo flute enthusiasts of various ethnicities, professions and age groups, recruited from within Singapore will come together to take audience through 50 minutes of non-stop music performance in conjunction with Singapore’s 50th birthday.
NParks will be giving out limited fun packs for the concert through SMS and Facebook contests. The public is welcome to participate in the SMS contest.
