Monitor Weather Broadcasts Before Visiting Forested Areas
06 Jun 2011
Singapore, 6 June 2011 - With intense rainfall expected over the next few days, the National Parks Board (NParks) advises members of the public to avoid visiting the nature reserves and other forested areas during stormy weather. There are signs at the nature reserves to remind the public not to enter these areas during stormy weather.
For parks and gardens, the public should take cover at the shelters available during stormy weather.
For their own safety, the public should stay alert and keep themselves updated of the latest weather reports by tuning in to radio broadcasts. They can also call NEA's weather forecast hotline at 6542 7788, visit the NEA website at www.nea.gov.sg or use the mobile weather service (Weather@SG - weather.nea.gov.sg).
For feedback and enquiries, the public can call NParks helpline at 1800-471-7300.
