About the performers
The Lorong Boys, known for their innovative and genre-defying performances, are a multi-genre ensemble that thrives on pushing the boundaries of traditional music-making. With deep roots in Classical and Jazz, the group is celebrated for their fearless exploration of genres such as Funk, Pop, Soul, and even Film scores, reflecting their love for musical experimentation. Their quest to discover and define a uniquely “Singapore Sound” has led them to perform on prominent platforms, from local TV and radio shows to international stages in Jakarta and Busan. In 2022, they reached a significant milestone by performing as soloists alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for the National Day Concert, and they also released their creative project, "Seven Films," on Facebook and YouTube.
Joining them for this special performance is Genevieve Seah, a seasoned vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter with over a decade of experience. Genevieve’s captivating voice, often described as sweet and versatile, allows her to effortlessly traverse genres such as pop-rock, R&B, musical theatre, and jazz. A bilingual singer, she performs in both English and Mandarin, making her a favorite for a variety of events, from weddings and corporate shows to high-profile collaborations. Genevieve has worked with musical heavyweights like jazz legend Louis Soliano and backed up celebrated artists such as Dick Lee and Joanna Dong. Her work as a backup vocalist has earned her recognition among the local music elite, and she has performed for notable figures like Singapore’s Prime Minister and President.
