Hoya House

Previously known as the Bonsai Garden, this display underwent a makeover in 2024 to transform into Hoya House. Hoya is the largest genus in the Apocynaceae family, with over 500 species.

Showcased in this display are more than 70 lowland species and cultivars mainly from Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea of both conservation and horticultural importance. This collection was built over the course of several years by our researchers and horticulturists, and serves as an important resource for scientific research, as the majority of the species are of a documented origin. Plants are laid out according to the geographical regions where they are found, and visitors can learn some fun facts about this plant group in this small but mighty conservatory.

The Hoya House is open 7am to 7pm daily.
