Arts@SBG: Community Arts Residency 2023 - Planting Memory Cubes
19 Jan – 25 Feb 2024, Green Pavilion, Singapore Botanic Gardens
1 – 24 Mar 2024, Entrance Pavilion, Jurong Lake Gardens
Step into a world where memories bloom in vibrant pixel cubes! Join Jaxton Su, our Community Arts Resident at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, on a whimsical journey called Planting Memory Cubes. This collaborative art installation, born from the collective spirit of the Gardens’ community, transforms the botanical haven into a living tapestry of stories. From the dedicated horticulturists tending to the green wonders, to families creating timeless memories during picnics, and to wanderers finding solace in nature’s embrace – each corner of the Gardens holds a unique tale. In this enchanting installation, memories take on new forms as pixel cubes that have been planted and preserved. Unearth a kaleidoscope of personal anecdotes, cherished moments, and unforgettable experiences tied to Singapore Botanic Gardens. Planting Memory Cubes invites you to be part of this immersive experience, where nature and nostalgia converge in a celebration of life’s beautiful moments. Planting Memory Cubes is part of Singapore Art Week 2024 and will be on display at the Green Pavilion in Singapore Botanic Gardens from 19 January – 25 February 2024 and then at the Entrance Pavilion in Jurong Lake Gardens from 1 – 24 March 2024.

About the Arts@SBG Community Arts Residency
The Arts@SBG Community Arts Residency aims to give artists the opportunities to inquire, develop arts-based collaborations and co-create with the community artworks that will shape communal public spaces and reflect the collective stories of the people. The artists will also have an opportunity to gather insights from Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the first and only tropical botanic gardens on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list – the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
