2025 SBG Calendar
Trees are the subject of this year’s calendar, which includes a selection of Singapore’s native species as well as several introduced species that can be found in the Singapore Botanic Gardens and throughout Singapore. One example is the iconic Rain Tree that lines the roads and pathways of our City in Nature.
Heritage Trees have been listed in Singapore since 2001, and they are some of the largest and most historically and culturally significant trees to be found in our city. The Singapore Botanic Gardens has 61 Heritage Trees, including several important timber trees found in the Dipterocarpaceae family. These trees once clothed Southeast Asia in a blanket of unbroken forest, but many are now threatened due to deforestation. The Singapore Botanic Gardens plays an active role in conserving these magnificent trees through the Heritage Trees scheme, which also aims to educate the community on the importance of protecting our mature tree. We hope this year’s calendar will encourage you to enjoy the wonder and beauty of these majestic giants.
The artwork featured in this calendar is part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens’ archives and were painted by Waiwai Hove.
