An expert at camouflage, the Green-crested Lizard (Bronchocela cristatella) is a native reptile with a moderately slender body and a spiny crest over the middle of its nape. The diurnal and arboreal reptile has a long tail, part of which is often brown. When threatened, the bright green colour may also change to dark brown or grey. It feeds on insects and is widespread in wooded areas in Singapore.
