Desert Rose

Desert Rose

Flora Fauna Facts

Did you know that the Desert Rose (Adenium obesum) is not actually a rose? The plant belongs to the Periwinkle family and is related to plants such as the Water Jasmine and Frangipani, as well as the Singapore Kopsia!

It is also popular among enthusiasts and grown as a bonsai for its unique swollen stem base, known as a caudex, and bright flowers that come in shades of white, pink and red. It grows best outdoors in a well-drained container and requires minimal maintenance. You can encourage multi-branching by removing the smallest two laves at the shoot tip.
