Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form An epiphytic sympodial orchid, it has a clumping growth form. 
Foliage The pseudobulbs can grow up to 11cm in length, bearing a single, pleated leaf about 45cm in length. 
Flowers The flower inflorescence is borne on a young shoot and is arching-pendulous, extending slowly to produce flowers in succession over several months.  The flowers are downward-facing and consist of white sepals and petals. The flower lip and column is brown in colour. The flower lip is 3-lobed. The mid-lobe is recurved and has a frimbriate margin. 
Cultivation It is best grown under partial sun, in hanging containers so as to accommodate its pendulous inflorescences.
