Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Succulent forming a single rosette up to 0.6 m tall.
Foliage Grey, fleshy leaves are oval to elongated, tapering to a sharply pointed tip and ending in a thin, reddish brown terminal spine. Leaf margin is lined with small, reddish brown, hooked spines.
Flowers Pale yellow, tubular flowers with pale green, cylindrical ovaries are arranged in a spike-like inflorescence. The stamens (male flower part) are composed of reddish purple filaments and yellow, long anthers, while the stigma (female flower part) is long and also reddish purple.
