Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form An epiphytic, sympodial orchid with a pendulous growth habit and a clumping growth form. The plant can grow up to 60cm in length. 
Flowers The flowers are borne on very short inflorescences in 1 to 3 flowers that measure 30 to 45mm in width. The colour of the flowers vary from blue, purple, lilac, violet or white. 
Habitat It is found growing on trees in forests at altitudes of 1300 to 2700m. 
Cultivation It is best grown under 70% shade and can be grown mounted or potted in free-draining growing medium. It is best grown under cool temperatures.
