Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a climber up to 15.5 m long.
Foliage Its stalked, alternate leaves have thinly leathery leaf blades that are oblong-lance-shaped to egg-shaped-lance-shaped, dark shining green, and 5–8.5 by 3–3.5 cm.
Flowers Its flowers are fragrant, about 1–1.5 cm across, with 6 pinkish-yellow petals in 2 whorls of 3. The petals in the inner whorl form a crown-shaped structure.
Fruit Its fruit is ellipsoid, glossy green, 7 mm wide, and contains 1–2 ellipsoid seeds.
Habitat It grows in dry thickets, secondary forests, and primary forests, up to 800 m altitude.
