Travellers do not require an AVS-issued import permit to import pet food not containing meat for their pet’s consumption. However, the amounts must not exceed our allowance limits.

The types of pet food allowed to be hand-carried into Singapore include dog, cat, small mammal, bird, and fish feed from all countries, and should not contain any meat ingredients.  

Pet food in amounts exceeding the allowance limits stated above or containing meat ingredients will not be allowed into Singapore. The excess will be detained and disposed of, or sent for return shipment without crossing customs.
