Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A terrestrial or lithophytic herb, it has a monopodial growth form. 
Foliage The leaves are arranged alternately and are dull green in colour. 
Flowers The flower is borne on a long single-flowered inflorescence. The flower measures between 5 to 7.5 cm wide. The dorsal sepals is white, covered with hairs and curves forward with a dark red line running along the length of the sepal. The petals are green, narrowly oblong with an undulate margin and covered with a layer of hairs. The flower lip is helmet-shaped.  
Habitat It is found growing on rocky places such as cliffs or limestone crevices or on bushy slopes from 900 to 1400 m in altitude.
