Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form An epiphyte with a sympodial growth form and can grow up to 15cm tall. 
Flowers The flowers are held on single-flowered inflorescences and measure between 45 - 85mm long. The sepals are much larger than the petals and are purple-red on the outer surface. The dorsal sepal has transulcent 'windows'. The petals are small and ovate, tapering off into setiform tips. Flower colour varies within the species.
