Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Herb to 30cm tall; forms a dense, compact clump under ideal conditions 
Foliage Leaves asymmetric, to 5cm long by 2.5 cm wide, hairy, bronze colored or sometimes dull olive green tinged with a dull brown tinge.  
Flowers Flowers pink tinged with white 
Cultivation This species was brought into cultivation via John Howell (USA), who distributed cuttings of this plant after he managed to raise them successfully from a cutting that he received from Yumiko Yamaguchi. The origin of this species is not known, but it was initially identified as 'Venezuela species' by J Howell.
