Growth Form Rhizomatous herb to 20cm tall
Foliage Leaves very dark reddish green - black on upper surface, edge of leaf with a fringe of short hairs. Veins on upper leaf surface bright yellowish-green, radiating from central spiral of leaf.  Petioles hairy, yellowish-green with red spots; leaf under surface dark red.
