Ethnobotanical Uses Cultural / Religious: This group of hybrids is often imported during the Chinese New Year Festive period as the local Chinese population considers the large, colourful flowers to be auspicious.

Planting Remarks Prefers cool, humid conditions and does not tolerate our local conditions of high heat and high humidity, Plants are best grown under 25'c, i.e. in premises that are air conditioned. When grown under such conditions, the potted plant must be watered regularly, and should be placed over a humidity tray as air conditioning can cause the plant to dry out quickly.
