Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a herbaceous plant that grows about 1 - 1.5 m tall.
Foliage Its leaves are narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, variegated with irregular creamy-white sections.
Flowers Its inflorescence is erect and appears above the foliage. The showy bracts are bright red. The true flowers are yellow and the tips are green.
Cultivation This heliconia grows best under full sun to semi-shade in organic-rich soils. Keep the soils moist.
