Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Musoid Heliconia to 1.5m tall 
Foliage Leaves mid green above, mid rib tinged with maroon. Under surface of leaves dark red - maroon, mid rib green.
Flowers Inflorescence erect, with 5-6 distichous bracts, rachis yellow. Bracts red on cheek and on distal portion of keel, base of bracts and proximal portion of lip yellow, green on distal portion of the lip. Sepals of flowers white proximally, green on distal portion, tipped with white.
