Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Soft cane begonia to 60 cm tall
Foliage Leaves to 10 (12) cm in length, base color mid green or brown, with light green or olive green spots scattered across the lamina. Edge of leaf with a light green border to 0.1cm; leaf margins crenate. Under surface of leaves tinged with red. 
Stems Stems succulent, dull olive green tinged with red
Flowers Flowers white, tinged with pink
Cultivation Horticulturists 'recognize' two forms - the 'Green leaf form' and the 'Brown leaf form'. As the names suggest, the green leafed form has leaves with a mid green base color, whereas the brown leafed form has a base color that is dull reddish brown.
