Description

Description Head distinct from slender body, dorsal scales strongly keeled. Olive brown above, the sides reddish on the fore part. Along the sides, a seies of black blotches shaped like inverted triangles with a reddish or whitish spot in the upper part. Upper lip white with narrow black bands. Underside yellowish white with narrow black bands.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Found in mature forest, active day and night, along streams where it dwells on the ground or on shrubs and feeds on frogs.
Habitats Forest, Terrestrial
Distribution Known only from the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, where it was last recorded in 1995. The species occurs in Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra.
