Description
Description | An unmistakable dragonfly with very distinctive wing markings. Males and females are very similar. Eyes are reddish brown on top and light brown below. Thorax and abdomen are dark, slightly metallic, almost black. Base of hindwing has a distinctive barred pattern of yellow, dark brown and deep metallic blue. |

Distribution | This is more of a grassland and secondary forest species. Parks where this dragonfly has been spotted include Bishan Park 1, Kent Ridge Park, Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West and Bukit Batok Nature Park. It is also known to be able to breed in brackish water and has been sighted in Pasir Ris Park. |
