Size 60 cm
Description Similar to Eurasian Curlew, separated by having deeper brown feathers overall; dark-brown back, rump, uppertail-coverts with black barring; white underwing with dense barring; brown underparts.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Habitats Mudflats, Sandy Shore
Distribution Breeds in northeast Mongolia, northeast China, east Siberia to Kamchatka; winters in Indonesia, New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand. Classified globally as endangered. Rare passage migrant. Known from Sungei Buloh from one bird that was recorded and photographed on 7 May 2008.
