Description

Size 58 cm
Description Very long and down-curved bill (about three times of the length as the head). Lower back, rump, uppertail-coverts are white, conspicuous in flight. Underwing white. Lower part of underparts mostly white.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Habitats Mudflats
Distribution Breeds in Central Siberia; winters in East and Southeast Asia. While birds breeds in Europe to Central Asia winters in Africa, Middle East and South Asia. Uncommon winter visitor and passage migrant to Singapore and a rare passage migrant to Sungei Buloh. The most recent record was one individual from 18-21 October 2008.
