Description | Small, colourful active bird in the undergrowth and trees, the male bright red with rey belly and greenish-black tail; the female dull olive-green, paler yellow below, shading to dull greenish beneath the tail. |

Ecological Notes | It occurs in parks and gardens, along the edges of forest and in forest clearings, and deep inside areas of disturbed forest, in tall secondary woodland and plantations. Depends on flowers for nectar, and also takes spiders and insects. |
