Keep Your Pet Safe with You
Keep Your Pet Safe with You
As a responsible pet owner, you will need to ensure your pet is safe and kept in the safe confines of your home. For small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters, you can house them in suitable enclosures or cages big enough for them to move freely and with sufficient toys, enrichment and hide-outs to keep them occupied.
If you are a dog owner
You need to keep your dog on a leash when bringing it out for walks. Leashing your dog in public spaces can allow you to have better control, and avoid it from getting lost or from disturbing others unintentionally.
It is also important to ensure that your house is properly fenced and/or your gate remains closed at all times. Make it a habit to always check that your dog is in the house when you open the gate/door.
If you are a cat owner
Cats are curious, energetic, and agile creatures. If you stay in a high-rise apartment, do mesh your windows and gates to prevent your cat from getting out of the house. You can provide a scratching post, and to consider sterilising it. Spending quality time with it each day will also keep your cat contented so it is less likely to roam.
