  The Singapore Botanic Gardens presented orchids to Ms Yip Pin Xiu and Mr Joseph Schooling in recognition of their achievements at the Paralympic and Olympic Games respectively. The Dendrobium Yip Pin Xiu was named after Ms Yip, and the Dendrobium Joseph Schooling was named after Mr Schooling.

  The National Parks Board (NParks) today announced the start of enhancement works for the National Orchid Garden, located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The enhancements will focus on the new Tropical Montane Orchidetum, comprising The Sembcorp Cool House, Tan Hoon Siang Mist House and Yuen Peng McNeice Bromeliad House, all of which will be connected by the Secret Ravine.

  Today, NParks opened the sixth nature park in Singapore, the 75-hectare Windsor Nature Park. A green buffer for the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, its existing habitats have been sensitively enhanced over two years.
