Terms & Conditions (Instagram Contests & Activities)

Jurong Lake Gardens Mid-Autumn Festival

The Jurong Lake Gardens Mid-Autumn Festival (“Event”) and all associated contests and activities are organised by the National Parks Board (“NParks”). By participating in the Contest, the participant agrees to unconditional acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions, which may be amended from time to time without prior notice being given.


Music under the Moonlight Contest (“Contest”)

Terms & Conditions:

  1. The participant warrants that he/she is the sole owner of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) and other proprietary rights to the photographs, images, content of the caption, and any creative work and materials entered for this Contest (collectively, the “Materials”), and that he/she has not licensed or assigned any intellectual property rights in the Materials to any person.
  2. The participant retains full copyright of the Materials entered for the Contest.
  3. It is the legal responsibility of the participant, to ensure compliance with all ownership and copyright requirements to reproduce the Materials for this Contest.
  4. Entries that do not fulfil the above criteria will be deemed ineligible and will be disqualified.
  5. Winners will either be given the option to collect their prizes personally at Jurong Lake Gardens, Lakeside garden visitor centre or to have the prizes mailed to their address within 3 weeks of being notified by NParks of their winning entry. Prizes are non-transferrable and no cash equivalent will be offered.
  6. NParks reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity and/or eligibility (if required) in order to claim a prize. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
  7. NParks reserves the right not to award any prizes, if in their opinion, none of the eligible entries meet the required standard for the prizes.
  8. If for any reason the Contest is unable to proceed as planned, or due to any other causes beyond the control of NParks that affects the administration, security, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest , NParks reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individuals who tamper with the entries, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
  9. The Participant shall assume all risks in respect of loss, injury, damage or liability which may arise as a result of or in connection to the Participant’s participation in the Contest, and shall not hold NParks responsible in respect thereof except for liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  10. The Participant shall defend, fully indemnify and hold NParks and its employees and agents harmless from and against:
    (i) All liabilities, damages, losses, costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) and expenses arising from any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, judgment or execution which NParks, its employees or agents may suffer or incur from or in connection to the participant’s participation in the Contest; and
    (ii) Any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, judgment or execution, arising from infringement or alleged infringement of any copyright or other intellectual property right or violation of confidentiality in the Materials produced, reproduced or submitted for the Contest.
  11. By participating in the Contest event, all participants are deemed to have consented to: the collection, use and disclosure of personal information where deemed practically necessary for the execution of the Contest.
  12. Participants are invited to submit their answers by commenting on either the NParksBuzz Facebook page or NParksSG YouTube channel.
  13. Entries submitted are only valid throughout the duration of the Music Video / Digital Concert on 1 October 2020 during the live streaming session.
  14. Entries submitted after the end of 1 October 2020 live streaming session will not be accepted.
  15. Each participant is eligible to win one prize only.
  16. Winners will be announced directly on NParksBuzz Facebook page or NParksSG YouTube channel. NParks will contact winners via a direct message on Facebook or in the comments section on NParksSG YouTube channel and provide winners with a form to fill up their particulars in order to facilitate redemption of their prizes.

Spot The Difference! (T&Cs) Instagram Contest (“Contest)

Terms & Conditions:

The participant warrants that he/she is the sole owner of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) and other proprietary rights to the photographs, images, content of the caption, and any creative work and materials entered for this Contest (collectively, the “Materials”), and that he/she has not licensed or assigned any intellectual property rights in the Materials to any person.
  2. The participant retains full copyright of the Materials entered for the Contest.
  3. It is the legal responsibility of the participant, to ensure compliance with all ownership and copyright requirements to reproduce the Materials for this Contest.

  12. Participants are required to post on their Instagram stories and attempt to spot the differences in the illustrations to qualify as an eligible entry.
  13. Participants are further required to indicate the hashtag #JLGMidAutumnTrivia2020 and tag 3 friends in order to stand a chance at winning the Contest.
  14. Entries submitted are only valid throughout the Contest duration from 18 September 2020, 00:00 to 23 September 2020, 23:59.
  15. Entries submitted after 23 September 2020, 23:59 will not be accepted.
  16. All participants must ensure that their instagram account is set to public.
  17. Each Instagram account is entitled to one entry only.
  18. NParks will contact winners with a direct message on Instagram and provide winners with a form to fill up their particulars in order to facilitate the redemption of their prizes.    

JLG Mid-Autumn Festival Trivia (T&Cs) Instagram Contest (“Contest”)

Terms & Conditions:

  1. The participant warrants that he/she is the sole owner of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) and other proprietary rights to the photographs, images, content of the caption, and any creative work and materials entered for this Contest (collectively, the “Materials”), and that he/she has not licensed or assigned any intellectual property rights in the Materials to any person.
  2. The participant retains full copyright of the Materials entered for the Contest.
  3. It is the legal responsibility of the participant, to ensure compliance with all ownership and copyright requirements to reproduce the Materials for this Contest.
  4. The participant grants NParks a non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferable right to use, reproduce, publish, publicly display, print, edit or distribute any Materials submitted for the Contest in any media format and any media channels as deemed fit by NParks without obtaining prior permission or payment of any fees or royalty to the participant. The Materials may be used for the following purposes:
    (i) Operating, administering and promoting the Event, Contest before and after the Event has ended;
    (ii) Displaying the Participant’s Materials on the Event website and/or NParks’ websites;
    (iii) Issuing a media release with Materials regarding the winning entries; and/or
    (iv) Usage of the Participant’s Materials during NParks’ roadshows, exhibitions and in publications both printed and online, for purposes which are non-profit in nature, such as for the promoting nature awareness in Singapore.
  5. Entries that do not fulfil the above criteria will be deemed ineligible and will be disqualified.
  6.   12. By participating in the Contest event, all participants are deemed to have consented to: the collection, use and disclosure of personal information where deemed practically necessary for the execution of the Contest.
  13. Participants are required to answer at least 2 questions in one video to qualify as an eligible entry.
  14. Participants are required to indicate the hashtag #JLGMidAutumnTrivia2020 and tag 3 friends in order to stand a chance at winning the Contest.
  15. Entries submitted are only valid throughout the Contest duration from 24 September 2020, 00:00 to 4 October 2020, 23:59.
  16. Entries submitted after 4 October 2020, 23:59 will not be accepted.
  17. All participants must ensure that their Instagram account is set to public.
  18. Each Instagram account is entitled to one entry only.
  19. NParks will contact winners via a direct message on Instagram and provide winners with a form to fill up their particulars in order to facilitate redemption of their prizes.

Instagram Print-Outs (“Activity”)

Terms & Conditions:

  1. The participant warrants that he/she is the sole owner of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) and other proprietary rights to the photographs, images, content of the caption, and any creative work and materials entered for this Activity (collectively, the “Materials”), and that he/she has not licensed or assigned any intellectual property rights in the Materials to any person.
  2. The participant retains full copyright of the Materials entered for the Activity.
  3. It is the legal responsibility of the participant, to ensure compliance with all ownership and copyright requirements to reproduce the Materials for this Activity.
  4. The participant grants NParks a non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferable right to use, reproduce, publish, publicly display, print, edit or distribute any Materials submitted for the Activity in any media format and any media channels as deemed fit by NParks without obtaining prior permission or payment of any fees or royalty to the participant. The Materials may be used for the following purposes:

    (ii) Any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, judgment or execution, arising from infringement or alleged infringement of any copyright or other intellectual property right or violation of confidentiality in the Materials produced, reproduced or submitted for the Activity.
  12. By participating in the Activity event, all participants are deemed to have consented to: the collection, use and disclosure of personal information where deemed practically necessary for the execution of the Activity.
  13. Participants are required to take a picture and encouraged to decorate creatively using the dedicated JLG filters or GIF stickers that can be found at www.instagram.com/nparksbuzz.
  14. Participants are required to make a post on Instagram and to indicate the hashtag #JLGMAF2020memories in order to be eligible to redeem a complimentary 4R print-out.
  15. Entries submitted are only valid throughout the Activity duration from 18 September 2020, 00:00 to 4 October 2020, 23:59 and eligibility is limited to the first 500 valid submissions.
  16. Entries submitted after 4 October 2020, 23:59 will not be accepted for printing.
  17. All participants must ensure that their Instagram account is set to public.
  18. Each Instagram account is entitled to one printout only.
  19. NParks (or NParks' authorised agent) will contact winners with a direct message on Instagram and provide winners with a form to fill up their particulars in order to facilitate the redemption of their prizes.
  20. Participants can expect to receive the printout within 3 weeks after the Event ends.
