Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Perennial shrub with erect and branched growth form.
Foliage Ovate-lanceolate leaves are usually solitary and sparsely covered in tiny hairs.
Flowers White flowers with light green markings are bell-shaped (0.6 cm wide).
Fruit Bright yellow, cone-shaped fruit is intensely spicy and citrus-flavoured. Each fruit contains 15 or less cream-coloured seeds and is about 7 cm long and 1-2 cm wide.
Similar Lemon Drop and Habanero chilis both have a lemon-like flavour, but Lemon Drop is much less spicy, having 15,000-30,000 Scoville Heat Units (a measure of a chili's spiciness) compared to Habaneros' 100,000-350,000 Scoville Heat Units.
Cultivation This cultivar originates from Peru and tolerates cool nights. It bears fruit 90-100 days from transplanting.
