Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a herbaceous plant growing about 1-1.5m tall.
Foliage Its leaves are light green, spirally arranged along the pseudostem. The maroon ligules are large and overlapping with each other.
Flowers Its inflorescence are borne at the terminals of pseudostems. Bracts are bright red. The true tubular flowers are creamy yellow, extruding from the bracts.
