Description and Ethnobotany

Cultivation To start plants, sow seeds indoors and transplant in the ground or alternatively, root stem cuttings. Leaves are ready to harvest after 50 days. Seed can be saved for another crop, and plants will need to be replaced after 6 months. Prune the stem tips to promote branching and new leafy growth. This cultivar is susceptible to attack by aphids and black bugs.
