Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Succulent plant up to 3.3-3.7 m tall in its native range, but 0.9-1.2 m under cultivation.
Foliage Triangular, bluish grey leaves are covered in light brown, soft velvety hairs and have a toothed leaf margin.
Cultivation Be careful to avoid overwatering and allow the soil to dry between watering. This plant is prone to attack by aphids and mealybugs which can be controlled with neem oil.
Etymology The specific epithet beharensis refers to Behara, a town at the southern tip of Madagascar, which is part of its native range.
