Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Shrub, sometimes treelet, can grow up to about 0.5 - 5 m.
Foliage Elliptic-oblong leaves, usually 3 - 5 in pseudowhorls, measuring about 4 - 8 by 2 - 6 m, leaf stalk measuring about 6 - 10 mm.
Stems Slender branchlets, cylindrical, upper internodes covered with tiny scales.
Flowers Yellow to orange star-shaped flowers in an inflorescence, usually 8 - 14 flowered, short and tubular, measuring about 3 - 4 cm wide.
Etymology macgregoriae was named after Lady MacGregor, wife of Sir William MacGregor who collected the plant specimen and sent to Baron Ferdinand von Mueller for identification.
