Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Small tree to 3m tall 
Foliage Leaves with 2-4 leaflets (occasionally with 1 or 5 leaflets). Leaf blades elliptic, lanceolate or oblong, 5-19cm long by 2.5-8cm wide. 
Flowers Flowers small, petals to 0.4cm long, white. 
Fruit Unripe fruits yellowish white - pink, ripening reddish to dark vermilion. Ripe fruits globose - ellipsoid, 1-1.5cm across,  with 2-3 seeds (occasionally only 1 seeded). 
Habitat Found in woods from 200-1000m
