Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Prostrate succulent herb to 10cm tall 
Foliage Leaves  succulent, 1-2cm long, dull green 
Stems Stems succulent, pale green tinged with red, some stems becoming reddish when exposed to full sun. 
Flowers Flowers double petaled, 3-4cm across, bright purplish pink. 
Similar This  differs from the other common Portulaca hybrids and cultivars in having double petaled flowers that are 2-3 times larger.
