Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Prostrate succulent herb up to 10 cm tall. 
Foliage Leaves dull green, ovate - obovate, to 3 cm long by 1 cm wide, fleshy. 
Flowers Flowers up to 2-2.5 cm wide. Stamens modified into linear, petal like, reddish yellow - reddish orange appendages in the middle of the flower. Plants exposed to more morning sun tend to have more red flowers, while afternoon sun leads to orange flowers and shade to yellow flowers.
