Description and Ethnobotany
Growth Form | An epiphytic, monopodial orchid. It has an upright growth habit. |

Foliage | The leaves are thick and elliptic to oblong-elliptic in shape. The leaves are silver-grey and mottled dark green. |
Flowers | The flowers are borne on a arching to pendant inflorescence which can grow up to 1m in length. The flowers are 7 to 8cm wide and have pale pink sepals and petals with a white margin. The flower lip is three-lobed, the lateral lobes are upright and flare outwards, the mid-lobe is obovate with two hair-like appendages growing from the tip. |
Habitat | It can be found growing in rainforests at altitudes of 0 to 450m. |
Cultivation | It is best grown under full shade with regular watering and high humidity. It can be grown mounted on fern bark or hung in clay or plastic pots to accommodate its inflorescence. |
