Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Biennial or short-lived perennial herb up to 0.3-1 m tall.

Fruit Egg-shaped fruits are known as schizocarps (2-3 mm long).
Cultivation This cultivar group is better suited for a Mediterranean climate. It can be grown Singapore, but it requires plenty of air circulation, at least 4 hours of direct sunlight, and alkaline, well-drained soil that is allowed to dry out between waterings. Avoid overfeeding, as it promotes rapid growth of new foliage that is susceptible to pests and less flavourful.
Ethnobotanical Uses Edible Plant Parts : Edible Leaves
Food (Herb or Spice): The decorative leaves are often used as a garnish and a seasoning for many types of food, especially meat products and sauces. Caution: Excessive consumption of the fruits might induce abortion.
