Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A epiphytic herb, it has a rosette growth form and has a clumping habit. It can grow up to 45cm in height and width.   
Foliage The leaves are glossy dark green and thin. The leaves are arranged in a rosette which form a reservoir that collects debris and water for nourishment. 
Flowers The flowers are white and are borne in a terminal  inflorescence with long-lasting, bright yellow bracts which can last up to 2 to 3 months. 
Cultivation It is best grown under partial shade to full shade and is best grown in well-drained and moist soil. It can be grown in container plantings.
