Growth Form Succulent plant composed of many, radially distributed stems.
Stems Long, thin stems are radially arranged in a dense mass that resembles the hair of the mythical Medusa, a woman whose hair was turned into snakes.
Flowers Small, yellow flower-like structures borne near the centre of the plant are actually inflorescences known as cyathia.
