Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Rhizomatous herb to 30cm tall 
Foliage Leaves oblong, to 15cm long by 4cm wide, dull, pale greyish green, with dark green lines (0.1-0.5cm wide) along the veins on either side of the mid rib, tapering towards the edge of the leaves; mid rib dull light green. Under surface of leaves dull purple
Flowers Inflorescence to 10cm long, bracts pale greenish white, becoming dull yellow with age. Flowers white. 
Similar Similar to the species from which this clone is derived; the leaves of Ctenanthe burle-marxii  differ in having much thicker, lance shaped markings (to 1cm) on the veins.
