Description and Ethnobotany

Foliage | The leaves are carried on bilaterally compressed pseudobulbs, each pseudobulb carries one dark green, rigid, oblong to oblong-elliptic leaf. |
Flowers | The flowers are borne on basal long spikes which rise above the plant. The spike produces successive, single flowers with triangular bracts. The flower has sepals and petals which are yellow with dark red blotches. The flower lip is yellow with a dark red margin. |
Cultivation | It is best grown in a free-draining growing medium such as charcoal, under partial sun with good air flow. Only re-pot the plant when new root growth is seen for better root establishment in the new pot. |
