Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Rhizomatous begonia to 30 cm tall
Foliage Mature leaves to 10 (-12) cm long, base color dull silvery green, centre of leaf flushed iridescent purplish pink, with a dull pink border along the leaf margins, leaf margins with sparse, short hairs.  Under surface of leaves pale dull green flushed with red; veins red.  Petioles red, pubescent.   Juvenile leaves pale silvery green flushed with pale purplish pink.
