Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Fern with a long creeping rhizome and 2 rows of overlapping fronds. 
Foliage Fronds dimorphic and simple, having both sterile and fertile fronds. Sterile fronds circular to broadly oblong in shape, have very short stipes, measuring about 1.5 - 2.5 cm long. Fertile fronds lanceolate in shape, have longer stipes, measuring up to 7 cm long. 
Reproductive Parts - non-flowering plant Sporangia covers the entire underside of the fertile frond.
Etymology Genus Pyrrosia means "fire-coloured". Species nummularifolia means with circular coin-like leaves.
