Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A perennial , herbaceous shrub that spreads sideways. 
Foliage The simple leaves are green with a maroon coloured patch at the centre of the leaf base. The midrib and veins are red. The leaves have an undulating edge, more evident near the leaf base.
